2014 – Viewpoint Construction Software Acquires Maxwell Systems
Viewpoint expands through North America and internationally through 2014. Viewpoint acquires Maxwell Systems making them one of the largest construction software development companies in the world. Viewpoint re-affirms their commitment with Quest Business Solutions to continue to enhance ProContractor for Australia and New Zealand users and grow the Quest reseller relationship through the Viewpoint network.
Quest Business Solutions continues to grow in staff. Chris Coleman and Neville Rance will bolster Quest Support and Professional Services. Stuart Wills has joined the Sales Team to expand the distribution of ProContractor throughout Australasia.
2010 – Quest Business Solutions is born
January 2010 Quest Business Solutions Pty Ltd. is formed when Quest Australia changed its name to Quest Business Solutions and relocated from Melbourne to the Mornington Peninsula, Victoria. Quest Business Solutions starts rolling out Maxwell’s ProContractor to its existing customers throughout Australia and New Zealand.

Quest took on additional staff and office resources to handle the new business strategy. These new resources have now given Quest customers access to some of the most knowledgeable construction specialists in the industry.

2008 – Maxwell Systems Purchases Quest Solutions
In 2008 Maxwell Systems purchased Quest Solutions U.S.A. As a developer of construction accounting and project management systems over the past thirty years, Maxwell System saw the Quest Takeoff and Estimating product line complemented its desire to create an integrated solution for contractors. Maxwell’s goal is to develop the first complete estimating, project management, document management and accounting system.
Quest Australia becomes the authorised dealer of Maxwell Systems, providing local support to construction companies in Australasia. “As a reseller of Maxwell Systems ProContractor Quest’s goal now is to adjust and develop ProContractor to the needs of our customers. Instead of developing software, our focus is purely on local support, implementation and training services.” – Eric Silcott – Director of Quest (Aug. 2008).
1982 – Quest Solutions, Inc. – USA
In 1982, a small group of contractors founded the Construction Estimating Institute in Sarasota, Florida, as a non-profit educational company. Their mission was to provide contractors with training and education in areas like building estimating, civil estimating, management and general construction.
Five years later, the institute entered the estimating software field by establishing CEIA, Inc. This for-profit company developed and successfully distributed two DOS-based earth-measuring programs, A.G.E and TOPOIIID for nearly a decade. In 1995, the company capitalised on advancements in computer technology and released its first Windows-based product, Quest for Contractors, and the first of its exclusive Visual Assemblies. CEIA, Inc. also changed its name to Quest Solutions, Inc. Quest Solutions introduced several innovative estimating software products and a claimed a significant share of the market.
